ABOUT THE ROLE
The Data Acquisition Italy provides data collection services to support the CONNECT business.
Data collection is provided through a number of external providers (vendors) who organize their field staff (field auditors) to collect data of FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) products in-store (mainly supermarkets).
Other providers collect data for us with different methods (i.e. electronic data from POS system, crowdsourcing, web scraping).
The Data Acquisition Specialist will be integrated with a small team, where we work together to manage the above services, with an important responsibility in terms of:
cost-efficiency, timeliness of delivery and quality of services
being the interface of interaction between commercial departments, data production, and external vendors, offering the best support to the business
providing a continue day-by-day monitoring on the delivery of the data collected from the vendors
support vendors in case of technical issues with the software or apps provided by Nielsen
building optimized plans of data collection based on the request of the Business
continue implementation of innovative technologies, streamlining processes, improving quality with the objective to create opportunities for business growth and cost-efficiency

You're accountable to deliver the day-by-day activity with precision, responsiveness, and practical pragmatism. Your curiosity and ambition drive you to projects of technical innovation, analysis of the process, digital transformation. Moreover, you feel comfortable in communicating with all kind of interlocutors.
Education: a technical education (University or Bachelor Degree) in information technology, electronic/telecommunication engineering would be preferred, but we value also practical knowledge of IT
Fluent English (written and spoken)
High ability with office tools (advanced in excel/Google Sheet, Powerpoint/Google Slides)
willing to understand also the business and financial implication of what we do
talent for data analytics and reporting
an inclination to provide contribution and opinion based on numbers and facts
ability to work in a synergic mode with team colleagues and other internal departments/external parties
The introduction in the team will start with a period of internal learning on the job alternated with external practical activity in the field in order to learn and deeply understand with hands-on all the dynamics and intricacy of the services.
