The Role


Corporate Application and Platform is part of CenturyLink Strategic planning and transformation organization.  As part of the Corporate application and Platform Leadership Team, the Director for Enterprise ERP has full and global responsibility for all aspects of the Enterprise ERP strategy, roadmap, project delivery, and operations. This team includes functional and development roles supporting finance and accounting, supply chain, revenue assurance, payroll, SAP basis and security functions.  The Director ensures that what is delivered by the ERP organization meets expectations in terms of schedule, budget, quality, ROI and meeting the requirements of our business operations. S/he will ensure that we have a vision and direction for ERP platforms that is aligned to and supporting our enterprise goals and objectives. S/he will oversee and guide a team of leaders in the effective delivery of ERP strategy, projects and operations.




The Main Responsibilities


Responsible for ensuring we deliver operationally reliable and optimally performing ERP platforms
Responsible for ensuring our ERP platforms meet our global business functional requirements
Serve as the key ERP functional expert by displaying a deep and comprehensive knowledge of functional business processes and a comprehensive knowledge of ERP capabilities and related tools that support those processes
Ensuring we have a vision for ERP that is aligned to our long-term enterprise goals and objectives and overseeing the development of a strategy to support that vision
Working with our IT Architects and Business stakeholders to gain broad alignment and investment to support the roadmap
Staying abreast of future technology trends that will impact ERP and ensuring these are factored into our business and ERP plans
Ensuring the ERP teams are operating according to the overall IT and Enterprise principles, policies and culture
Engaged with key business stakeholders on a regular basis to understand their perspective on ERP delivery and what they need to be successful and factoring that into the ERP delivery
Work with IT and business leadership to influence their thinking on ERP capability and direction and ensuring all key IT and business are engaged and partnering effectively and regularly
Staying well connected on a daily basis on critical tactical challenges in project or operations delivery and ensuring the team has what they need to overcome those quickly and successfully
Building a culture of excellence, urgency and focus on customer in every aspect delivery
Taking the lead to work through conflict situations that reach an executive level
Developing a culture of continuous improvement in people, process and technology built around the Strategic Planning and Transformation XLR8 agile framework
Develop annual goals that are aligned to company and business goals that ensure we’re focused on continuous improvement and business value
Ensure the ERP team is motivated, engaged and working towards positive business and customer outcomes
Ensuring we’re effectively managing the business change management in the delivery of our ERP programs
Developing our talent so we’ve the right mix of skills and diversity for today’s technologies and the emerging technologies that will develop in the ERP space




What We Look For in a Candidate


Experience :

Fifteen years of professional experience managing and leading IT teams in large global enterprises
Experience leading teams in excess of 100 employees and contractors in multiple regions
Experience with SAP is a must
Experience being responsible for overall external partner and vendor relationships
Experience in setting vision and direction and gaining executive alignment with the strategy
Experience in leading and guiding a team that is balanced from a skills and diversity perspective
Experience in implementing a culture change and transformation of teams

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities :

Embody executive presence and must have observable influencing skills
Demonstrate solid understanding of business needs to drive the ability to lead the design, build and continuous business support of the ERP solution to meet strategic business objectives
Ability to problem solve and work effectively in complex, ambiguous situations
Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
Strong interpersonal and excellent presentation skills are a must
Demonstrate excellent problem solving, negotiating, conflict management and decision-making skills
Operate consistently with a sense of urgency and a ‘can-do’ attitude
Proven track record of driving productivity while maintaining or increasing quality
Proven track record of overseeing the successful implementation of large scale ERP programs
Strong business process knowledge required – Quote-To-Cash, Procure-To-Pay, Supply Chain, Finance
Good exposure to Agile/SCRUM development
Good knowledge of financial principals and processes
