As a Software Architect your typical day might include:


Arbitrate technology decisions across SuccessFactors Learning teams
Contribute code to the Learning product
Author clear technical documentation and presentations to communicate architecture and design options to educate engineering teams and product managers
Conduct experiments to prove hypotheses and model out solutions
Mentor and coach engineers
Influence SuccessFactors technology standards, guidelines & principles in collaboration with other domain teams
Communicate updates in technology through scrum ceremonies and team meetings
Develop broad knowledge of capabilities and constraints across SuccessFactors, SAP and integrated external systems affecting your domain
Create a delightful experience for SuccessFactors customers and partners that is secure, scalable and performant

Education and Skills:


CS Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience
5+ years of experience developing high volume SaaS-based solutions
2+ years of experience as a tech lead with a proven track record of designing at scale, distributed, highly available, fault-tolerant applications and services
Experienced in Web Services, APIs, Java, Public Cloud (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP), Application Security
Experience in coding in multiple programming languages

Lead the strategy


Contribute to business domain strategy in SuccessFactors Learning product area based on technology advancements
Be a trusted advisor to engineering management & align technology vision with their business and technology priorities
Maintain strategic alignment with product strategy and external stakeholders such as customers, partners and vendors
Lead teams across SuccessFactors Learning product using One SuccessFactors and One SAP Mindsets
Contribute to and maintain strategic alignment with technology strategy, aligning teams within SuccessFactors Learning product area
Create a leading brand by speaking at internal meetings and architect forums

Plan, Execute & Operate


Create an architectural blueprint for part of a SuccessFactors Learning domain in collaboration with product, engineering, and senior architects
Create, influence and apply domain-specific architecture views & viewpoints
Balance long term and near-term priorities
Drive adoption of technology standards within a domain
Design solution architecture to ensure a scalable, performant, highly available secure software product
Actively participate in design and code reviews
Prevent and fight significant business impacting technological fires within SuccessFactors Learning domain

Lead the change


Challenge wasteful processes and practices with business-relevant alternatives
Be bold and communicate upwards conflicts between innovation and standardization
Guide teams to critically analyze requirements to do the right thing, not just what they are asked to do

Ready yourself and your team


Recruit and interview engineers

Participate and be vocal in SuccessFactors architect’s community
