Lead Software Architect
As a Lead Software Architect, you will be part of Platform team responsible for core software engineering standards and practices, lead and mentor a team of software architects and help to evaluate and adopt new technologies. You will have chance to work on new cloud engineering standards and patterns, and also creating and supporting new tools and products. At the same time, you will help us to stabilize existing products, identify inefficiencies and provide solutions to address them
Line Management: Manage a team of software architects, provide necessary guidance, mentor and line manage the team and help them in their journey to lead the technology transformation. It includes regular 1:1s, goal setting, personal development, skillset enhancements and manage expectations from other stakeholders about architect’s involvement
Governance: Identify the need of necessary software governance, help to put/enhance the process and articulate to the wider engineering community the need and collaborate with other stakeholders (enterprise and solution architects, Lead engineers, Tech Leads, DevOps) to ensure it provides necessary guidance and recommendation
Work with Engineering teams to ensure platforms and software are built consistently with relevant patterns and practices and ensure these patterns are communicated and understood by the wider engineering community
Solution: Provide development approaches and technical assurance on complex initiatives and support shaping of new projects and products
Collaborate with product managers, infrastructure, security, and other business areas to understand their needs, translate the needs into technology solutions and help engineering teams to build the solutions in a scalable, consistent and secured way
Architecture evolution: Work with software architects and help them to evolve the software architecture of various products. Help to articulate the current architecture, improvement areas and potential target architecture
Roadmap: Work with business and technology leaders, understand the business strategy and future needs, identify common technology capabilities and patterns and ensure they are presented in a consumable way to the business to get necessary buy-in for investment
Stakeholder and Business leader management: Identify inefficiencies in our existing software products, articulate the impact, provide options, solutions and influence business to invest in those areas
Collaboration: Build strong relationships across the business and act as a technical expert for colleagues in support and product teams
Deep understanding of microservice architecture, Data platform and cloud technologies especially AWS
Strong knowledge of software development methodologies and approaches including multi-tiered distributed applications
Experience of leading teams and provide necessary line management and guidance
Experience of using modern software development toolsets including DevOps, Continuous Integration and Delivery
REST API development and/or consumption and technology governance
Good understanding of web security and DevSecOps principles
Good understanding of Datawarehouse and Cloud based Data platform
Strong communication and collaboration skills
